Gardeners. Let’s be clear. There is no promise of a harvest in the garden! But there is always hope for a harvest, even from the most unexpected places.
I grew potatoes in pots on our balcony in Colorado. It was a pretty good harvest despite the ups and downs of temps on the 3rd floor. Encouraged by that experiment, my husband and I thought we would try it out here!
We usually have organic potatoes in our pantry, so I took a few Russets . . .
The first harvest is almost always a delight. It is the joy of the very first and the brand new. Not everything in life is perfect, but the results can be oh, so satisfying.
In this case, satisfyingly delicious!
Next to daisies, sunflowers are my favorite flower. Every summer you’ll find at least one in my yard, balcony, or whatever space is available for me to “green.”
Sunflowers do not traditionally make the best transplants . . . We, humans, are not very different when it comes to transplanting. . .
What’s going on?It is so easy it is to get caught up in “what you’re good at, but not your passion” in adult life.
But then you look up and realize life seems to have passed by in a flash. Where has the time gone?
Just. Get. Started.
