Progress Waits for No One!

Community (read “relationship) is always in progress and always in a phase of transition. We come and we go, we try a new angle to thrive, we are cut and we are exposed, we are supported and we are loved. And sometimes we have done all we can do, and we need to let it be and let it heal. It will heal in its own time, and the resulting harvest will be more than you could have imagined. Because progress can be slow, or progress can be quick. And still, progress waits for no one.
My First Raised Bed!

On January 14, 2023, I started my first raised bed. I was itching to start a garden in a real yard, having recently come from a small balcony area of growing space in Colorado. Also, the soil was clay and had in-ground sprinklers that I didn’t want to disturb. So – raised beds. This was a lesson in passion, and also patience to completion.
Brainwashed – At Christmas?!

I was working on a Christmas project today, two days before Christmas. It was a calendar and I was drawing simple pictures to represent the months of the year for 2024.
I got to December, and the first thing that came to mind was a Christmas Tree. We have lots of fun stories to give Christian meaning to candy canes, Christmas trees, bells, holly, and so much more. It is all fun, and yet too many arguments have been had over these things.

I need to know what these flowers are!
I should take pictures so I can identify them!
I might write about this later – I need lots of photos!
Beauty in Aging

I was pondering the beauty in aging during the month of May. May holds the highest quantity of my family’s birthdays: mother, father, sister, niece. It also marks the homegoing of my father and of course, May also hosts Mother’s Day.
This Mother’s Day was the first one during which my mom was living in our household. . .

The Washing of the Water!

In my last post, I told you briefly about the farmer ants, who were responsible for destroying my first okra harvest, by aphids. Boy, ants are smart.
But they are not smarter than us. A quick blast of water took care of them, both ants and aphids. But the ants came right back to try to set up their farm operation again.
