The Promise of Potatoes, in Pots
I grew potatoes in pots on our balcony in Colorado. It was a pretty good harvest despite the ups and downs of temps on the 3rd floor. Encouraged by that experiment, my husband and I thought we would try it out here!
Life is worship, and worship is life. ❤️
At heavenlyplantmatters.com, all content is 100% human-created. Gardening is a human endeavor. It is for human hands and hearts (and strong backs!), and the regeneration of human minds and souls. So the writing will not be “perfect,” But it will be honest. Come and join me on the journey!

My family and I relocated to North Texas on Memorial Day weekend in 2022! Now we are figuring out what it takes to garden here.
Heat? Oh my gosh. A far cry from the high desert climate in Colorado. Working through that. On a limited budget. So just maybe, you’ll pick up some tips here that can save you some money!
And fire ants in Texas? 🐜 🐜 🐜 Yes. They have become my absolute nemesis.
According to the new 2023 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map, we are gardening in zone 8b. Last year it was zone 8a. We are so close to the “zone border,” I’ll continue to operate like it’s 8a – just to be safe!
Life is busy. I get that. So the goal is to keep blog posts under 1,000 words for a quick and easy read.
Most of what I’m writing about is how the journey of gardening in North Texas is going. And in most posts, I’m sprinkling in a healthy dose of uplifting, insightful encouragement (again, in easy-to-read bites)! I’m still figuring out how to do that – honestly, authentically, and without being preachy! You’ll find posts on gardening, recipes, projects, and just general life – each with the view that all of life is worship to our Heavenly Father!
Heavenly Plant Matters is an ongoing work in progress. At any point, you can check out the origin story to see how far this site has progressed! And I know inquiring minds wanna know – so you can also read a bit about me here 😊!
I’m always searching for ways to improve as I learn and grow in blogging. I hope you come along and join me on the journey!
